Who would've thought....

...that a three-mile run would seem "easy"?

Not I. A few months ago, three miles would have seemed like 100.

Today was my recovery run following Saturday's long run. I swear, three miles is getting easier and easier!! Yes, I was going at a slower pace today, but I was pushing the kids in the stroller and thinking "This is not nearly as hard as it used to be!!" So I guess that means I'm making good progress!! It's nice when running starts to feel easier. That makes it even that much more enjoyable.

And I did try out the heart rate monitor today (it worked). I really kept my HR at a consistent pace, which was good, but I need to study up on where I should be keeping it during any given run.

I might have to use the treadmill for my run later this week. The forecast says to expect rain starting tomorrow through the rest of the week. So I might scrap the outside run on Wednesday and do a treadmill jog, depending on how bad it's raining.
I am definitely planning on doing my long run Saturday outdoors, no matter what the weather is. I just can't imagine forcing myself to do 4.5 miles on a treadmill.

Today's stats:

Distance: three miles
Time: 38:09
Pace: 12:43 minute/mile
Best pace: 10:18 minute/mile

The great thing about running is the more you do it, the more you get some easy runs like that! pfftt ONLY 10 miles! ;-)

Great job! Keep it up!

Great job! Isn't it funny...most people have never run 3 miles in their life and you just thought it was easy!

Before you know it, 4 miles will feel easy, and then 5 miles, and so on and so on..... it's such a great feeling, isn't it?!

Hope the weather is nice for your long run this weekend - I've discovered that I actually like running in the rain, as long as it's not freezing cold and it's not a torrential downpour. I've done quite a few runs in a light, steady rain, and was surprised to find that I really enjoyed it. Maybe you will, too!

Hi Micki!
There is no better feeling than when the runs start getting easier. Good for you, sounds like you are really motivated. Keep up the good work!
Pretty soon a Half-Marathon will just be an easy training run ;)
