Blech.
I miss my typical Fortuna weather!!
I am tired of this humidity. Weather.com said the humidity was in the 60 percent range again today. And it said it was about 72 degrees in the afternoon. I don't know where their outdoor thermometer is located (or if there even is one here, LOL!), but we have an outdoor one and in the shade it was 77 degrees at one point. And that is quite warm for here!! Even worse, it was 78 degrees in our house!! Almost no homes have A/C here because you usually don't need it, but I would have used it today!!!
So despite the fact it was roasting indoors even with windows open and fans blowing, I decided to do a hard three-part workout. First, I did 20 minutes on the bike, followed by a two-mile treadmill run and another 10-minute bike ride. Boy, it was not easy!!! I think my legs literally turned to rubber on the last bike portion. I am sweating buckets now. I can't wait to take a shower!!! But I have to give the kids baths first because they're hot and uncomfortable, too.
I'm going to throw a vent in here about something I am beyond irritated with: our yard. We don't have a back yard, just a front yard that is now just about dead. We didn't get nearly as much rain this winter as usual and everything just withered. Well, except for weeds. It is FULL of weeds (including ones that have spines on them and hurt like hell when you touch them!!) and insects. I went out today to spray the weeds because pulling them takes way too long and isn't terribly effective, and there are tons of carpenter ants around my planter bed and fence!! Ugh!! So I loaded the kids up and went to the Ace Hardware to get some ant bait traps. I wish we had some extra money, because I would totally hire someone to completely redo our entire yard. I actually secretly wish we could be HGTV's Landscaper's Challenge. I love that show and they always have such great outcomes!
Anyway, our lawn is so unfriendly that I can't let the kids play in the yard anymore. So if they want to play outside, we have to go to the park. I almost can't stand it anymore and I don't know what to do. :-( If anyone has any ideas or has had a lawn from hell, feel free to give me some pointers.
Oh, and I took a new self-portrait last night and will try to get it on here tonight. I like to take pics of myself now and then to keep track of my progress. I think I am looking a lot better now!!
Weather update: It is now after midnight and it is 88 percent humidity, according to weather.com. And it is STILL 78 degrees in our house!!! OMG, I need to sleep outside or something, because it's cooler out there!!!
Other update: I posted the new pic of myself on the right side of the page. :-)

88% humidity? WHAT? Doesn't that just mean you are in a sauna? Oh gosh I am sorry it's been so yucky! Bleck! I didn't know you didn't have AC...that is a foreign concept to me. ;>)
Hang tough!
OMG I can ONLY imagine! Luckily it's been mild here today. The past 2 days we were inside with the AC cranked.
I was JUST going to comment on how much you've thinned out in the face!! You're doing GREAT Momma!! ;D ;D ;D You look fabulous!!
You have made incredible progress and CONGRATS to you Michelle! You look fantastic in your pic.
Ok, a few things:
1. Sorry,I know nothing about gardening. Sadly, I am still a renter :(
2. You picture is great! You're looking fly sister!!!
3. I have to run 12 miles in the morning and weather.com is telling me at 6am it will be 78 degrees and 89% humidity...SIX AM!!!!
Of course I have air conditinoing for when I am done;)
I think we turn our air off maybe 1 week out of the entire year. Isn't that crazy? And we only used our heat ONE day this past year. Gotta love that global warming!
