Kara turned four today. What a bittersweet milestone. She is growing up so fast and I was a little sad about it this morning.
I'm sure the fact I woke up this morning with swollen eyelids didn't help my sad mood. Blame all the crying yesterday. But the good news is my father-in-law has offered to watch Matty next week when school starts so I have a little extra time to track someone down.
But I went on a nice mind-cleansing run today, and that really helped ease my emotional distress. It was the perfect day for a run, so I tested out the 5 3/4-mile distance I will be doing for my race in two weeks. It went well and felt good, so I am confident. The race course I will be running is fairly hilly so I'm sure I won't run it as quickly as I did today.
We are having Kara's party tomorrow. It should be fun! It will be at a local gymnastics center that Kara used to go to on Saturdays. Seven kids are supposed to be there, not including my two. This will be her real first birthday party with kids her age. In the past, we kept it limited to ourselves and the grandparents.
Today's stats:
Run:
Distance: 5.75 miles
Time: 1:03:15
Pace: 11 minutes/mile

Happy Birthday to Kara! I hope she has a great time at her party tomorrow!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KARA!! Isn't crazy that they are 4 already?!?!
My little baby girls are going to be 29 in a few weeks. I can't tell you how freaky it is to see wrinkles on your children!!!
Enjoy the baby years.
What a great news! At least it gives you a week to figure things out.
I'm sure my parents are saying the same thing about me and my brother!! Happy B'day Kara!! =)
Happy Birthday, Kara! I know you'll figure it out!! Be strong and don't give up!!
Oh great! Some breathing room, just what you needed. Yeah for the birthday girl. Aren't they amazing?
Great running!! I did 4 today and thought I might need CPR. :D
Happy Birthday Kara!!!
Glad you have a short-term solution to give you more time with Matty's situation. It will all work out!
Happy birthday to your little girl!
I'm glad you are feeling a little better today and that the run helped.
