I ran today for the first time in nearly a week. The weather has been so depressingly bad here for days that I was happy to have a little break in the clouds and rain so I could head outside. I loaded up Mr. Matty in the stroller and took off when it was time to pick up Kara from preschool.
The trip to the school was fairly easy, as a bit of it is down an incline and the stroller was only half-full. The way back was torture. Pushing 100 pounds of stroller and kids up hills while running really does suck big time. It is great exercise, but it feels like hell while I'm doing it.
There are some ominous-looking clouds rolling in right now and the National Weather Service is saying we're in for more rain the rest of this week. I hope I can get some more running in this week despite the weather. All the rain, wind and thunderstorms we had last week and this weekend just killed my motivation. And my treadmill is still down, as I haven't figured out the issue with it yet.
Oh, and my Weider Total Body 5000 gym should be here by Wednesday!! I am so excited to start doing some resistance training with it! :-)
Today's stats:
Run:
Distance: 3.5 miles
Time: 38:06
Pace: 10:53 minute/mile

Who needs a gym when they push 100lbs of kids around! :D What a woman. Great job getting out there. If I had to time it with and haul the kids, I'd be a gonner.
I have a feeling I'll be hauling out the old total gym tonight! Wish me luck :-)
It could be worse, you could have a triple stroller. That is great exercise. When I first started running, I avoided taking the stroller for that reason. Now, I am willing to take it with me.
Congrats on Disneyland in May. You will have so much fun. Word of advice, wear your old running shoes (you will get them wet), swimsuit under shorts and t-shirt. Do not forget sunblock. If all goes well, I would like to do the Disneyland 1/2 Marathon in August.
My first run in a week today too! =) But I pushed no kids, just dragged a 14 lbs dog around.
I really want to get into weight and streght training too but find no time for it. Let us know how you like the exerciser!
