Race night thoughts

I'm sitting here, in my pre-race haze, thinking about everything that might happen tomorrow. I always have jitters the night before, but for some reason I feel more nervous this time around. Guess it's the HM distance that's scaring me.

I got my race packet today and drove the course. It's on a different road than the 10K I ran last year. But it is so beautiful. Huge redwood trees butt right against the road in spots, and there is a lot of shade. Being next to those trees makes one feel mighty small. Thankfully, the course is pretty flat, so that shouldn't be an issue.

I bought yet another sun visor today at the race's "expo." I use that term loosely, as it is still a small race and the expo area consists of about seven tents. But our local running shop (which I where I buy my shoes) had a tent with running goodies to buy, and I found this neat blue visor that I couldn't resist. I've been wearing it all day and it's soooooo comfy! I will take a pic of it soon. I also bought some Gu for the race, so I feel ready.

I had some pasta for dinner and I really, really want some dessert. I don't allow myself treats often anymore, but I feel like I'll earn it tomorrow. I have to run to the store soon to get a couple things, so maybe I'll buy a small treat. ;-)

That's all for now. I need to turn my brain off tonight. The more I think about it, the more I stress.
