Are there performance enhancers...

... in my water or something??

I swear, it seems almost every time I go out for a run, I end up coming home with another PR.

It happened again today. And again, I was pushing the kids in the stroller. I almost can't believe how much I am improving. Not that I am complaining, or anything. ;-)

I think part of it is I now know how fast I can be (thanks to the last race), and that inspires me to run faster. Part might also be because of the weight loss. It does feel easier to carry this big body of mine around now. And a big part is that I am striving for 10-minute miles on a consistent basis. I realize that is a very achievable goal. A few months ago, I would have thought it was a pipe dream.

Anyway, today the kids accompanied me for a four-miler, and I actually kept my overall pace under 11 minutes/mile!!! That is such a huge improvement from where I was earlier this year.

Oh, and I also set a PR for the three-mile distance. I was actually only planning on three miles, but decided to throw one more on for good measure. I did three miles in 32:29. That is more than a minute faster than my previous three mile PR! Crazy!! But that is great, because my goal for the three-miler I am running in August is 30 minutes, and I am getting closer to that every time I go out!

Today's stats:

Run (with stroller):
Distance: four miles
Time: 43:33 (new PR; old one was 45:48 set way back in April)
Pace: 10:53 minute/mile (I still am shocked by this!!!)

Splits:

Mile 1: 10:30 (this is now my fastest mile time during a training run)
Mile 2: 10:54
Mile 3: 11:01
Mile 4: 11:05

Isn't it wonderful that you can see the improvement in yourself. I couldn't believe the first time I averaged 10 minute miles for 6 miles, then went back in my blog and saw where I did that same run at 12 minutes per mile. Thing is, we can continue to improve, and that adds to the joy of our journey. Keep up the great work!!

Michelle that is so awesome. Seeing the numbers drop is great motivation and it sounds like your really dialed in! Great job, you'll be bustin the 10min mark soon!

Great job and enjoy it while it lasts. Unfortunately, a time will come when those PRs are much less frequent. In the mean time, enjoy every single one.

Every time I pop in to see what you're up to, you're setting a new PR - and with the stroller, no less! Way to go!!!!!
